Three Friends Against the World

The three of us met on one of the very first evenings over at our new university. Ethan and I had been dating for 2 years prior to leaving for the UK together, but still knew that making friends was a priority in this unknown environment, and we did... rather quickly.

Ethan and I were smokers (don't come at us we're stressed) and often went outside in the evening time to enjoy a smoke at sunset, or even during a warm night. This, unsurprisingly, made for lots of drunken encounters (most very funny, some a little worrying) but Ulrich stood out the most compred to all of his inbriated peers. The two of us had found ourselves a small group of people in the park and were exitedly sharing music, enamoured by the idea that a person from Ukraine and a person from the UK could love the same music, and as my boyfriend stared on, pretending this handsome newcomer wasn't stepping on his toes, and I laughed and enjoyed the company of new friends, Ulrich was getting lost somewhere near the main town, slaughtered and in need of a lift - which he eventually got from a kind stranger- and that was the first moment I saw this curly-haired, grin-bearing, awesome, idiot. He stumbled over and introduced himself, slurring so much we called him Henry for the next three days.

"I'm Ulrich, can I have some of that alcohol?"

Brillaint. Of course we obliged, and then took a very pitiful drunk man to bed, laughing the whole back about this new friend we just had to see again. Although, we had meant at the time, like, the next day or something, but sure enough, 20 minutes later, Ulrich rumbled down the large granite steps and practially ran across the road back to our park bench. He offered us water from his bottle 5 times a minute and interrupted every prson who spoke, and it only made him all the more charming to us.

We met again the next day and told him of his antics, which led to the three of us sharing dinner in our halls canteen, and many dinners, and breakfasts there after. Also lots of midnight tea meetings, our own drunken antics, and lots, and lots, and lots of karaoke...

It was an easy decision, the one that all three of us should travel together. There had never been a time where we didn't get on, and the love between us was clear from the very beginning, so really, it wasn't even a decision in the end, we all knew, it had to be together.
